Diapers

One thing that a lot of parents ask me about are diapers. First, with a newborn you will need between eight to ten diapers per day. Some days you may need more and some days you may need less. Most brands now have Velcro tabs, don't buy diapers that do not. Most brands have cloth like cover and ultra absorbency. So what brand do you buy? Well, I would say one of each. Each baby is different and each diaper will work differently for each one. I love Pampers cruisers. I think they are the best diapers out there. However, they don't work for my son. He wears Pampers Baby-Dry. Pampers are expensive so I have tried a few other brands too. First we tried Huggies. Four diapers into the pack I gave them away. Then did not work at all. peep and poop everywhere. Not something you want to deal with a newborn. Because it is not just the babies clothes, it is the crib sheets, mattress pad, or yes, even your clothes. So on to Luvs. Now, what some people don't realize, is that Luvs is made by the same company as Pampers. I wasn't sure how they were going to work, they were a lot less than Pampers so I thought I would give them a try. We buy Luvs now. I can not believe how well they worked for my son. So I though why not buy the Target brand diapers and give them a try. Well they are great for the daytime, not so well at night. The Target brand he leaked in every night for a week. So now he wears Pampers Baby-Dry at night. So try a brand and if it doesn't work switch. You may have to go through several different brands, or the first one you try may be the winner. Good luck!

Over the years

I have been a nanny for nine children. Not the same family, six different families. My shortest job was six months my longest was a little over eight years. Out of the nine children five were infant the youngest I started with was only two days old and the oldest infant I started with was eight weeks old. My other charges ranged from three years old to ten years old. I have learned a lot about myself and my profession taking care of all nine charges. Everyone always asked what age do you like best. I always said "all". Each year there so many changes they go through. I love them all. I do have a weakness for babies. I love there little toes and fingers. When they look to you help them through the day. Watching for new milestones everyday. What bliss. I have seen their first smiles, laughs, rolling over, crawling to first steps and first words. I remember the first time each of my charges said "I love you" I tear up just thinking about it. I can not wait until my son is able to say "I love you" I hope all my charges know how special they are to me and that I think of them everyday. Thanks to the parents for letting me be apart of these very special children's lives. An even bigger thank you to all my charges for letting me be a part of their lives. Love you all.
